Template:ListTOC/doc

This is a documentation subpage for Template:ListTOC (see that page for the template itself). It contains usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page.

Usage

This template creates an alphabetical TOC for list pages. This template does not automatically create headers and sort list items into them. Wiki users should make headers first in alphabetical order, sort items under each header, then add this template to the top of the page. This template should only be placed on alphabetically sorted lists, not unsorted lists. You can prevent the page this template is placed on from being categorized, by adding the |cat=no parameter to the template.
