Template:Merge/doc

This is a documentation subpage for Template:Merge (see that page for the template itself). It contains usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page.

Usage

When a page's contents can be added to another page, use this template. This template should not be confused with the similar template {{Move}}. Place this template on pages that could be deleted, with its information added to another page. This template will automatically categorize pages into the Merge Request category; to prevent automatic categorization, add the |cat=no parameter into the template.

Example

Apple An apple is a type of fruit closely related to the pear. It is round and red, yellow, or green. It has a stem.

Apple core It has been suggested that this page's contents be merged with the page Apple. You can discuss this on the page's talk page. An apple core is the inedible middle of the apple. It contains the seeds.
