Template:Stub/doc

This is a documentation subpage for Template:Stub (see that page for the template itself). It contains usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page.

This template is used to identify a stub, a page that is short for the wiki's standards.

Usage

Typing {{stub}} produces the message shown at the top, and adds the article to the following category:

• Category:Article Stubs

What is a stub?

A stub is an article containing only a few sentences of text which is too short to provide encyclopaedic coverage of a subject.

If an article is still short, but long enough not to be a stub, {{expand}} should be used instead.

How is a stub identified?

• Place a stub template at the very beginning of the article. As usual, templates are added by including their name inside double braces, e.g. {{stub}}.
