From Test-Scratch-Wiki

Disambiguation in the Scratch Wiki is the process of resolving the conflicts that arise when a single term is ambiguous, and so may refer to more than one topic which the Scratch Wiki covers. For example, the word "Mod" can refer to a Scratch Modification, as well as a Community Moderator or the () mod () block. There are four important aspects to disambiguation:

  • Naming articles in such a way that each has a unique title
  • Making the links for ambiguous terms point to the correct article title
  • Ensuring that a reader who searches for a topic using a particular term can get to the information on that topic quickly and easily, whichever of the possible topics it might be
  • Basic conventions, such as checking that the links and their descriptions are separated by dashes (

— [created with {{-}} or using the symbols box below the editing area]), not commas. To see the basic form of a disambiguation page, see here.

When a term means one thing a lot more than others, a priority disambig should be created. Only use this when the exact term is the name of the disambiguation; notice how Collaboration (disambiguation) is written with Collaboration redirecting to Collaboration (group). Be careful; in an example like Scratch Mod, the disambig should not be written in priority form.

Disambiguation pages with only two items are not necessary; it would be a better idea to use {{about|<quick explanation of what the page is to distinguish it from the other page(s)>|<what else the term could mean>|<title of page that has that information>}} or {{redirect|<title that redirects here>|<what else the term could mean>|<title of page that has that information>}}. More information on how to use the templates is available on their documentation pages.

Put {{disambig}} on the top of a disambiguation page. This template will add it to Category:Disambiguations.
