A project during the recording process.
The "Record Project Video" is a feature in the Scratch User Interface, added on December 21, 2015,[1] which allows Scratchers to record the project they're running, without any third-party screen recording software.

How to record a project

- Open up a project you wish to record a video of. Click the "See Inside" button and you should be in the online editor.
- Click the "File" dropdown and click "Record Project Video".
- Select your desired options. These include recording sound, showing the mouse, and high video quality.
- Click "Start" when you are pleased with your selections.
- A countdown will appear. When the countdown reaches zero, you can interact with the project while it's being recorded. All interactions made during the recording process will be recorded on the video. You can record up to a minute.
- Once you're done, click the square located in the bottom left corner of the project player.
- If you are happy with your recording, you can choose to download the recording as a FLV file. This requires the VLC media player in order to play the recording, which can be downloaded here.
- If you want to upload your video to Youtube, use this link to convert the FLV file into an MP4 file.
Recording Options
When recording a project, there are multiple options you can choose from. The default option selected is to include sound from your project. To get more options, click the text that says "More Options".

Include Sound From Project
|
This option will make sure that any sounds your project makes will be included in the recording. This includes sounds created from music blocks, music, etc.

Include Sound From Microphone
|
This option will make sure that any sounds from your microphone will be included in the recording. Your computer must have a microphone either built-in or plugged-in for this to work.

Show Mouse Pointer
|
This option will make sure that your mouse pointer is included in the recording. If you drag your computer mouse pointer into the project player, anyone watching the recording will see it.

Record Entire Editor
|
This option will make sure that the entire editor is included in the recording. This includes the project player, script section, sprite section, etc.

Record at Highest Quality
|
This option will make sure that your recording is at the highest quality. This means that your final recording will be clear and neat.

Alternatives
This feature is very limited, so there are many third-party alternatives. Users can install screen recording software such as Activepresenter, Bandicam, or Screencast-o-matic.
