From Test-Scratch-Wiki
Extension
How about we use the extension that English wiki has where some buttons don't show for non-editors? U W N (talk) 23:33, 3 November 2015 (MET)
- I would appreciate that also it is only "nice to have" at the moment. Mtwoll (talk) 23:42, 3 November 2015 (MET)
Fr Wiki in Real Wikis
Could we add the Fr Wiki in Real Wiki list please? http://fr.scratch-wiki.info/wiki/Accueil Thanks ;) Smrman (talk) 10:55, 2 November 2016 (MET)
Add Lithuanian
Please add a link to the Scratch Wiki Home page in Lithuanian. Page is at Lit. Smrman (talk) 12:12, 24 December 2022 (UTC)
Add Vietnamese
Please add the Vietnamese language to the sidebar since the namespace has been created. There is however currently no home page (or any page at all) in this wiki. This is so we don't forget about it. Smrman (talk) 22:07, 23 August 2022 (UTC)
- UJpdate, there is now a homepage at Vie. The language can be added. Smrman (talk) 12:12, 24 December 2022 (UTC)
Add Greek
Please add a link to the Scratch Wiki Home page in Greek. Page is at Ell. Smrman (talk) 12:12, 24 December 2022 (UTC)
Add Marathi
Please add a link to the Scratch Wiki Home page in Marathi. Page is at Mar. Smrman (talk) 12:12, 24 December 2022 (UTC)
Link to the namespace page instead
Since some wiki might not have a main page when created and we don't want to wait for the authors to create one, or if the authors decide to later rename the page, we should add the link in the seidebar direclty and point to a page that can itself redirect to the homepage of the wiki, instead of linking to the homepage direclty.
That way, the authors can update the link to the homepage direclty and don't need to ask an admin to modify the sidebar, which, unfortuantely doesn't happend regularly (especially when adding new languages to the wiki).
E.g. Instead of pointing to ગુજરાતી, we should point to Guj. The Guj can in turn point to ગુજરાતી, as it already does.
However, it would technically anyone in the wiki to control where to links in the sidebar point to. Fortuantely, the Test Scratch Wiki is pretty small and such risks are minimal. Smrman (talk) 12:20, 24 December 2022 (UTC)
