Control blocks is one of the ten categories of Scratch blocks. They are color-coded gold, and are used to control scripts.

In Scratch 1.4 and earlier, this category also included the blocks that are now Events Blocks.

There is currently one Hat block, five C blocks, three Stack blocks and two Cap blocks in this category.

Scratch 2.0 has the only one Control Hat block:

• when I start as a clone

Scratch 2.0 has the following three Control Stack blocks:

• wait (1) secs
• wait until <>
• create clone of [myself v]

Scratch 2.0 has the following five Control C blocks:

• repeat (10)
• forever
• if <> then
• if <> then else
• repeat until <>

Scratch 2.0 has the following two Control Cap blocks:

• stop [all v]
• delete this clone

Suggestions

Scratchers have suggested a Control block that repeats the selected stack for a set amount of time.

Obsolete Blocks

Prior to Scratch 2.0, there was a "Forever If ()" block, which worked like "Forever, If () Then".
